As the premier
independent supplier of manual
transmission products to the automotive
aftermarket, AMS Automotive continues to
set the standard for product
performance, reliability, and
durability! What’s more, we offer nearly
100% coverage on all domestic and import
applications for passenger cars and
light or medium duty trucks. |

Quality |
|
|
|
Due to increases in installation times
and labor rates, questionable quality
manual transmission components just
aren't acceptable to the majority of
professional installers.
That’s why we never rely on less
expensive products produced by inferior
off-shore suppliers. Heat treating,
specification variance, material
density, assembly procedures, and
engineering analysis from these
off-shore sources fail to meet our O.E.M.
criterion.
Nor do we rely on “will-fit”
consolidations that don’t look or
perform like the O.E. style component.
Quite often these components prematurely
fail simply because they don't function
as a precision matched system with the
other driveline components.
Moreover, as an impartial independent
supplier, we aren’t tied to defective
designs and/or obsolete product tooling.
Whereas other suppliers may have no
choice but to sell certain products
simply to recoup their fixed costs and
tooling expenditures, AMS is free to
compile a product offering based solely
on our commitment toward high quality
and outstanding value.
As an additional measure, we manufacture
heavy-duty and high-performance “Series
Upgrade” clutch kits, engineered to
replace O.E. designs that simply can’t
withstand certain driving styles and
operating conditions. Each Series
Upgrade features a unique combination of
application-specific torque capacity,
coefficient of friction, and clamp load. |

Coverage |
|
|
|
Putting together a manual transmission
component program for the automotive
aftermarket is a lot like putting
together a puzzle. Without all of the
pieces of the puzzle, the image just
isn’t complete. Without comprehensive
coverage, sales are lost, and lost sales
lead to lost profits.
Worldwide O.E. production of manual
transmission components is extremely
fragmented. To create the industry’s
most comprehensive program, AMS has
partnered with a multitude of O.E.
clutch and bearing suppliers, along with
numerous O.E. suppliers of flywheels,
clutch hydraulics, and other clutch
system components. Additionally, because
we manufacture heavy-duty and
high-performance components, we work
with a whole host of raw materials
suppliers, friction materials
manufacturers, and so on. |

|
|
Compatibility |
|
|
|
Further complicating matters, issues of
component compatibility continue to
increase. Rarely do different
manufacturers of O.E. components work in
conjunction with one another. In most
instances, it’s up to the vehicle
manufacturer to match the driveline
components from multiple suppliers.
Additionally, vehicle manufacturers may
rely on more than one O.E. supplier to
provide duplicate components for the
same make and model year vehicle. In
other instances, suppliers tool-up
aftermarket versions that are
incompatible with the other driveline
components.
At AMS we resolve these issues through
years of primary research provided by
various vehicle manufacturers, applied
product expertise, and in-vehicle
testing. This information is then
cross-referenced and verified using IDD
(Identification by Design) compatibility
analysis. Click here for further
information regarding IDD. |
