In
response to poor core
availability along with the high
cost of replacing broken
component parts, AMS offers a
comprehensive line of new
agricultural clutches.
Manufactured by O.E. producers
like AP Borg/Beck and Alma,
these units fit applications
including Fiat, Ford, Holland,
and Kubota.
Obviously, tractor applications
aren’t nearly as varied as
automotive applications.
Nevertheless, a variety of
pressure plate and disc assembly
designs are necessary to handle
the high torque levels found in
ag applications. |
|
|
|
|
AMS pressure plate and
disc assemblies are designed to address
application specific requirements. In
doing so, we insist on utilizing the
following diaphragm and coil spring
style pressure plate configurations. |
|
|
 |
Single Drive Plate Type
Assembly - While similar
to an automotive type
assembly, some versions do
utilize an independent power take-off
(PTO) pack. This is the most
common type ag assembly. |
| |
|
 |
Split Torque or “Live Drive”
Type Assembly - Contains
a single driven plate with a
spline hub that is
permanently fixed to the
assembly. The driven plate
operates in conjunction with
a gearbox input shaft and
provides power to a separate
PTO pack that is controlled
by a separate hand lever. |
| |
|
 |
Sequential Type Assembly -
This assembly contains two
driven plates, one for the
transmission and the other
for the PTO. A single foot
pedal engages the
transmission and PTO.
Initial pedal movement
disengages the transmission,
while further movement
disengages the PTO. |
| |
|
 |
Independent Type Assembly -
This assembly also contains
two driven plates, however,
the transmission and PTO are
operated independently of
one another. In most
instances, a foot pedal
engages the transmission,
while a hand lever operates
the PTO. |
| |
|
|
|
We
also insist on using several application
specific disc configurations. These
designs include organic or sintered
metallic facings, all matched with
either rigid or spring dampened designs. |
|
|
 |
Rigid Designs contain no
torsional damper springs in
the center of the disc. |
| |
|
 |
Dampened Designs contain
torsional springs in the
center of the disc.
Torsional springs absorb
load fluctuations in the
driveline. While
interchangeable in many
instances, these discs are
“design” specific. |
| |
|
|
|
Although organic
material is typically used in most
applications, the sintered material
found on other applications provides
greater resistance to wear and heat.
Sintered material is also more tolerant
of arduous operating conditions. |
