Dating back to our inception in 1987, AMS has been a supplier
to heavy-duty clutch rebuilders and manufacturers in Australia, Canada, Mexico,
Puerto Rico, and the United States. Products have included component parts used in
the production of heavy-duty clutches, as well as finished goods such as release
bearings and pilot bearings.
Our collaboration with Miba AG, an Austrian O.E. producer of sintered friction
material, has helped to establish Miba as the premier category brand within the
North American aftermarket.

In 2008, building on the experience and expertise that we had gained thru those efforts, we formed a joint venture with Setco Automotive to market and distribute their lineup of LIPE™ clutches. At the time, many people were already familiar with LIPE™ medium-duty clutches.
LIPE™ clutches were trusted American originals, but the brand had fallen victim to corporate bureaucracy.
With the addition of an inventive platform of 15.5” heavy-duty clutches, the LIPE™ brand is
leading a resurgence, and AMS is proud to play a part.
True to our “Sell The System” philosophy, AMS produces a comprehensive lineup of clutch
related products for commercial vehicles.
- As the leader in new flywheels to the automotive aftermarket, AMS offers a wide-ranging program of new no-core flywheels for commercial vehicle applications. Our expertise ensures that each flywheel is manufactured to O.E.M. specifications, and our economies of scale ensure that they are priced competitively.
- We offer three styles of clutch brakes: 1-piece, 2-piece hinged and 1-piece torque limiting. Most versions are available in multiple thicknesses (we’ve developed an easy-to-follow inspection chart used to determine if a thicker version is needed).
- Our unbeatable coverage of high quality C3-fit pilot bearings, meet the demands of any application. Options include nitrile seals, steel shields, and high temperature Viton® seals. We’ve got Mack applications covered too, with the addition of the necessary snap ring.
- We retooled the popular 6212 deep-groove release bearing designed for most pull-style clutches, and added release bearings for Freightliner, Mack and Navistar applications with 1-1/2” input shaft splines.
- Our lineup of alignment tools includes heavy-duty versions that can support over 150 lbs. Each tool in manufactured in the United States, and the quality is so high that they can be used over and over again.
- To prevent contaminants from entering into the bell housing, AMS produces bell housing cover kits. These kits include the cover, mounting bolts, lock washers, a rubber plug, and one lube hose (various lengths are available). The hose replaces the zerk fitting on the release bearing and protrudes thru the rubber plug, enabling the release bearing to be greased without removing the cover.
- AMS installation kits are designed to prevent costly comebacks. These kits contain all of the clutch-related wear items including the fork, clutch brake, pilot bearing, front bearing cover, and gaskets, along with the input shaft, retaining rings and various bushings.
